Too Funny

A few weeks ago, I was trying to figure out the brand name of my favorite doll. I needed to know it for an upcoming Q&A, but for some reason, I couldn’t remember the type of doll she was. I knew that the doll resembled a Black stuffed doll and had a little baby in her arms, but that was it.

Soooooooo, I texted my Mom to see if she remembered and her response was absolutely hilarious. My Mom is one of those people who says what she thinks. Most of the time she’s not trying to be funny, but she is. I love it! My Mom doesn’t care for texting, but check out her reply. She inserts the best emojis. πŸ˜‚

The good news is that my oldest sister remembered the brand name and when I goggled it, she popped right up! She was a Hugga Bunch doll.

I had the cutest name for her, but I won’t reveal her name here until after my Q&A. When I texted my Mom the picture she said, “Yeah, that’s it.” Mom was right, she did have a big head and a little baby in her arms!

Mom, you are so awesome!

Summer 2019 It Is!

Since The Chronicles of Neffie was published this past February of 2018, I’ve received many direct messages from Kindle and iBook readers inquiring when the second novel series will be available. I had initially planned on releasing it the late Fall of 2019, but I have now changed it to the Summer of 2019.

Why? Because I’ve received a number of messages from readers expressing that’s too long of a wait. The sales have been really good since it’s release and that’s the least I can do to show my appreciation.

Some readers didn’t like The Chronicles of Neffie and I can respect that, but an overwhelming majority loved it! The only thing I wish, as I’ve expressed before, is that most of you who send me direct messages, would also leave a review too. I love it when I see a large amount of downloads, but what I would love even more is also a large amount of reviews too.

I got my work cut out for me and I’m going to have to get started on the second novel series soon. Because of your support, word of mouth and a few other things, you’ve allowed this indie writer to be able to be a part of some exciting opportunities for the year 2019.

Since so many of you want to see what happens to Neffie next, you’ll be able to find out August 2019. I owe it to you for being such awesome loyal readers and supporters.

Wait until I share the title of the second novel series and the book cover. You are going to like it! πŸ‘ŒπŸΎ

Until next time…

The Second Series

Guess who’s gearing up to write the second novel series for The Chronicles of Neffie? Yep, you guessed it. I’m so excited and I already have the title picked out. I could have never imagined that a novel inspired by my Great, Great Grandmother would have the affect it did on a number of readers.

Those who already read The Chronicles of Neffie are anxious to see what becomes of Neffie in the second novel series. There are a lot of surprises in this one as well as a few “shockers”. Neffie has quite a bit to share with her readers and share she will. She didn’t hold back in the first novel series and she won’t be holding back in the second one.

Now for the burning question: When will the second novel series be available? Fall 2019. Why? Because I want more readers to have the opportunity to discover Neffie. A lot can be learned from her and those like her. May many more readers read her story and be inspired.

Until next time…

One For The Books

All day today I had to hold back tears which made my day an exceptionally long one. Many of you who have read The Chronicles of Neffie have been pushing me to reach out to even more schools to have this book considered and discussed. Wow! Do you even know how much that means to me? I don’t think you do. ❀️😒❀️

It always warms my heart to receive comments and direct messages from readers who just finished reading The Chronicles of Neffie. I wish I can share them all. Take this reader for example. This reader didn’t have to leave a comment, but she did and I’m appreciative of it. I’m still touched by the number of readers who are anxiously waiting to see what happens to Neffie in the next novel series. πŸ“–

Since a good number of you are continuing to push for this book to be considered in more schools, I’m going to do my part to try and make that happen. I’m blown away by the support. I really am. Thank you so much! This one is for the books. πŸ™πŸΎβ€οΈπŸ€—πŸ˜˜

Until next time…

I was asked, when do I see myself being able to write full-time? Honestly, I would say in two years if I play my cards right. I’m not trying to rush or make any quick judgments because anything can happen between now and then. At the moment, I have a number of different stories I’m working on and I can’t wait to share them with you.

After quite a bit of urging, I’m going to submit The Chronicles of Neffie to a few more book competitions over the next couple of weeks. If I win in just one of those competitions, I’m going to be beyond over the moon so stay tuned. Some winners will be announced later this year, others early next year. Let the anticipation begin! I want more stickers and awards added to the cover.

Until next time, rise, shine and always make good use of your time. Most importantly, don’t forget to stay humble.

What a Character!

Many of you (who already read The Chronicles of Neffie) have expressed an extreme dislike for one particular character. This character (second to Sanderson) has triggered many readers. Who am I referring to? None other than Miss Reisa.

Tonight, I have narrowed down the top eight comments from readers who had no problems expressing how they felt about Miss Reisa.πŸ˜‚ I got a kick out of these! This author loves it so keep them coming!

1. “Ugh! I really hate this woman! She makes me sick to my stomach!”

2. “I wanna whoop her tail so bad!”

3. “Ohhh, that’s one low down DIRTY *expletive*!”

4. “OMG! I never met a woman so evil and cruel!”

5. “Can somebody please hurry up and get rid of her?!”

6. “Why is this woman still walking around breathing air?”

7. “Miss Reisa stressed me out so bad. She was tearing up my nerves!”

8. “Give me just two minutes with her! Two minutes please!”

Oh man, I have some of the best readers! Can’t you tell? If it’s one thing this author would like to say before ending this blog post, it’s this: Please also leave a review. As much as I enjoy hearing from you and adore your direct messages, it helps me as an author when you also leave a review. The more reviews the better. Thank YOU so much in advance. It means a lot! πŸ€—

So, have you downloaded / purchased your copy of The Chronicles of Neffie? If not, what are YOU waiting for? πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈπŸ€”

B.R.A.G. Medallion Award

Good Evening wonderful people! This blogger / author is swimming in good news tonight. This is going to be a long post so I hope you are ready! πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

My first novel series, The Chronicles of Neffie, was awarded the prestigious indieBRAG B.R.A.G. Medallion award for historical fiction this morning. Whether you are a published or self-published author, you know that the chances of your book being selected by them is pretty slim. Only 20-25% of books are actually selected from a multitude of entries! Grateful and thankful is all I can say because now, I’m officially an award winning author! πŸ˜πŸ™πŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎ

When I quietly submitted my book several months ago, I had assumed that The Chronicles of Neffie wasn’t selected because I never heard back from anyone. Imagine my surprise when I opened my email and saw that my book was selected! I’ll go ahead and tell you that I had to read the email several times because I just couldn’t believe it. It seemed so unreal.

My happiness soon turned to tears because once again, I couldn’t share this good news with my father. My father, along with my amazing mother, told me not to stop at nothing when it comes to getting this book out there. Why? Because they both felt strongly that The Chronicles of Neffie is a literary jewel. As happy, honored, thrilled and grateful as I am, I’m a bit sad that I’m not going to get one of my father’s bear hugs πŸ’”.

I can hear my father now, ‘Dad is very proud of his baby girl. I knew you could do it. You always had it in you.’ That is exactly what my father would’ve said because he would say that every time I achieved something when the odds were not in my favor.

I encourage all of you not to cave into your self-doubts, but to instead, face them head on. You never know what wonderful opportunities await you when you do. If you are an independent writer like myself, I urge you to do some research on indieBRAG. An award from them can open you up to a whole new world of readers, literary opportunities, exposure and so much more. It’s no wonder why they’ve appeared in Huffpost and the like.

My beloved family and close friends have said many times (since I started my writing journey in 2014) that one day my name is going to be known by many; I’m starting to see that they were right. I said it once and I’ll say it again, make your name shine where it really counts! Not only that, remain humble along the way. πŸ˜ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸΎπŸ˜‰

If you can believe it, you can very well achieve it! πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™πŸΎπŸ€—

Until next time…
