Race Relations

We live in a world where race relations aren’t the best. Some find it hard to be friends with individuals who are of a different nationality or race because they believe they don’t have much common. But is that really the case? Could it be that they themselves are harboring some form of prejudice that keeps them from getting to know other groups of people? That’s something to think about.

I have an amazing group of racially diverse friends and I know that’s not the norm for most people. Why? Because most people have trouble connecting with someone who is of a different nationality or ethnic background. A lack of confidence, poor self-esteem and deep-seated racism or prejudice is usually to blame.

I come from a racially diverse family and so it’s easy for me to connect with people who don’t share the same skin color as me. I find myself pitying those who are missing out on such wonderful opportunities because they don’t know or refuse to know how to truly connect with people who are of a different nationality or ethnic background than them.

If you are a person who possesses a racially diverse group of friends, I sincerely want to commend you. I tend to laugh (sometimes) when I hear people say, I have Black friends or White friends and it’s like maybe one or two. When I say diverse, I mean exactly that. Diverse. Black, Native American, White, Middle Eastern, Hispanic, Asian and so forth. Those are the types of good close friends I possess and cherish and I wouldn’t trade them for nothing in the world!

What Did You Expect?

When I blog about the unfair treatment and mistreatment of Black people, I do it because it exposes just how obsessed racist and prejudiced people are with Black people. Most Black people don’t go out of their way to be hateful towards non-Black people because most of us are too busy trying to thrive and survive. Racist and prejudiced people don’t even want us to do that.

Racist and prejudiced people are so obsessed with targeting Black people and other people of color that they foam ferociously out of their mouths with hate. Their day isn’t complete until they spew hate out of their sewage pitted mouths. It’s like a disease that they don’t want to get rid of. That is why most of them look rabidly disgusting and all of them age horribly. Hate, prejudice and racism will do that to you.

Racist and prejudiced people are so obsessed and nosy when it comes to Black people and other people of color because they are afraid we are going to do better than them at something. If they see a Black person or a person of color succeeding in something or has the potential to do great things, they get beside themselves. It’s quite pathetic and sometimes humorous to watch.

I don’t think twice about blogging about the horrible behaviors of racist and prejudiced people because they are horrible. Whatever I post on my blog I stand by. I said what I said and that’s that.

Check Your Attitude

It’s been said and proven that a positive attitude can lead to a longer and healthier life. On the other hand, a negative attitude can lead to a shorter and more complicated life. If we were to honestly examine ourselves, I’m sure each of us could pinpoint aspects of our personalities that we don’t like. We’re human, we’re imperfect, which means we are a constant work in progress.

Take me for example. One personality trait I thought I would never conquer, second to my violent temper, was squashing arguments. Years ago, I would argue at the drop of hat because I felt that was something I needed to do. Needless to say, it affected my overall happiness and my health. How sad. 😔

Just to give you an idea of how I used to be when it came to arguing, I’m going to share a few slightly funny memes. Back then, if you had something “smart” to say and you mumbled it under your breath, I was coming back with the quickness to see what you had to say. I was on that “speak up, don’t mumble” type of foolishness. SMH. I’m so glad I no longer carry on like this…

Whatever it is you are working on to better yourself, keep at it and don’t give up. You’d be amazed how things turn around for you when you change for the good. If I hadn’t of changed, I have no doubt that the opportunities I stand to receive next year wouldn’t have come my way. Sometimes, change can bring unexpected blessings and immense happiness. 🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾

Summer 2019 It Is!

Since The Chronicles of Neffie was published this past February of 2018, I’ve received many direct messages from Kindle and iBook readers inquiring when the second novel series will be available. I had initially planned on releasing it the late Fall of 2019, but I have now changed it to the Summer of 2019.

Why? Because I’ve received a number of messages from readers expressing that’s too long of a wait. The sales have been really good since it’s release and that’s the least I can do to show my appreciation.

Some readers didn’t like The Chronicles of Neffie and I can respect that, but an overwhelming majority loved it! The only thing I wish, as I’ve expressed before, is that most of you who send me direct messages, would also leave a review too. I love it when I see a large amount of downloads, but what I would love even more is also a large amount of reviews too.

I got my work cut out for me and I’m going to have to get started on the second novel series soon. Because of your support, word of mouth and a few other things, you’ve allowed this indie writer to be able to be a part of some exciting opportunities for the year 2019.

Since so many of you want to see what happens to Neffie next, you’ll be able to find out August 2019. I owe it to you for being such awesome loyal readers and supporters.

Wait until I share the title of the second novel series and the book cover. You are going to like it! 👌🏾

It May Not Be For You

My blog that is. On my blog, I post uncomfortable subject matter at times, but that’s life. Life is not always comfortable. There will be times where we will be made to feel uncomfortable. It’s inevitable. It’s going to happen and for others, it may happen more than once.

As a Black woman, it should be a given that my blog will be geared towards subject matters of the Black experience. I will share unsettling truths, stories and facts that may make you feel uncomfortable, ashamed, sick or even mad, but if it’s the truth it’s the truth. I can’t be ashamed to share the truth no matter how painful or uncomfortable it may be…

As a blogger, I have readers and followers who follow and unfollow at times, but I can respect that. What I post isn’t for everybody. My blog, BookingAnita, is a place where I share inspirational stories, facts, as well bitter truths. The overwhelming majority of my readers and subscribers love it. Will this blog ever deviate from that? No, not a chance.

Lord Have Mercy…

I came across two horrendous child abuse cases that almost ripped my heart apart. In the first case, two she-beasts beat a toddler to death just because she accidentally urinated on herself. In the second case, five trash urchins abused a teen boy so badly that some of his scalp and teeth was missing. Police say in the second case, the boy would’ve died in two more days if he hadn’t of been found. That’s how badly abused and neglected he was.

I want you to take a good look at these atrocious, heartless and putrid looking individuals.

How could an adult or several adults treat a child or children so cruel? Evil, pure evil I say. The little toddler who was beaten to death for accidentally urinating on herself suffered for hours as she was whipped over and over. No mercy was shown by these deplorable she-beasts whatsoever. The same can be said for the five trash urchins who almost starved and tortured a little boy to death.

If I sound upset, that’s because I am.

To read more on the five trash urchins, click here. To see the sentencing of the two she-beasts, click here. Watch how they fall out when they hear their sentence. I hope the five trash urchins receive the same sentence.

Night Terrors

I’ve been contemplating whether or not I should blog about this recent “event”, but then I decided to go for it. After all, I can laugh about it now…

This Wednesday around 4:30 in the morning, I heard something scratching on my roof. The scratching was so loud that it woke me up. This “thing” was making so much of noise that I honestly thought someone was trying to break in through my roof. At one point, it sounded like it was more than one up there. Don’t ask me why, but I honestly thought it was a giant rat on my roof.

The whole time this “thing” was scratching and running across my roof, I had my flashlight in my hand just in case I needed to take off running. For all I know, it could’ve been a raccoon, a cat or some other kind of critter. I was thinking the absolute worst because it was scratching and digging like it was trying to get me. I know one thing, whatever it was, it scared me just a lil tad. If it had of kept on, a tear would’ve dribbled down my left eye. I’m not lying either…😭😂😭
