Way Too Common

I had to make a brief blog post on the mass shootings within the United States before calling it a night. These are my thoughts and my own opinions so feel free to disagree…

When you take a look at the growing number of mass shootings within the United States, you have to wonder why such behavior is becoming way too common. Individuals with hate in their hearts and evil within their souls are emboldened to commit such terroristic acts without a hint or even a warning. When you think about that, it’s pretty scary and what’s even more scary is that it’s going to happen again. And again…

The fact is this: The United States is full of homegrown terrorists. Yes, terrorists born in the U. S. of A and these aren’t the terrorists from the Middle East or foreign countries that the news likes to thrust in our faces. Take a look at the mug shots lately of the mass shooters. Do they look “foreign” to you?

The United States is so worried about letting “possible” terrorists in when it’s full of its very own terrorists. If you ask me, sometimes you have to pay attention to your own before you go pointing your fingers at somebody else. In the mean time, I suggest people look up the real definition of a terrorist. I’m sure those who are quick to think “foreign” would be surprised.

Until next time, please be safe and have a wonderful night everyone.

Why Should It Matter?

A few days ago Geoffrey Owens, known for playing Elvin on The Cosby Show, was spotted working at Trader Joe’s. Yes, you read right, he works at Trader Joe’s. My question is: Why should that even matter? The man is trying to make a living for his family so what’s wrong with that? SMH at the disgusting woman who tried to shame him by selling a picture she took of him without his consent.

What started out as an attempt to shame him, resulted in a world of support. Geoffrey has received encouragement from fans all across the world including celebrities who came to his defense. It just doesn’t make sense to make fun of someone who is trying to make a living the best way they can. If anything, it should garner respect.

People who make fun of an individual’s job, trade, pay or income are simpletons. Not only that, they lack morals, values, confidence and self-esteem. Those very same individuals behave in such a way in order to try and make themselves feel better about themselves. Pitiful. Don’t be like them.

Disgusting and Disturbing

Warning: This lenghty post contains strong opinions and views regarding the rampant racism, prejudice and attacks on innocent Black men, Black women and Black children. If you are easily offended or can’t handle the truth, stop reading now. If you aren’t a racist or prejudiced individual, then my post shouldn’t bother you. This post is for the innocent Black men, Black women and Black children who have been targeted for hate just because they are Black.

As a Black woman and a person of color, I’m disgusted by all the reports and videos showing innocent Black people being called the N-word by racist and prejudiced White people. Some have had that word hurled at them as they were walking down the street, sitting on their own property, in shopping centers and now, we have racist and prejudiced White people chasing and following Black people in their cars just to call them the N-word. How crazy is that?

Thank goodness for social media because if it didn’t exist, hardly anyone would believe it. I lost count of all the videos exposing such disgusting behavior because several new ones pop up every day. It’s bad that innocent Black people have to be ready to pull out their phone to record such sub-human behavior in order to be believed or taken seriously. You know it’s bad when you have White celebrities calling out the rampant racism and prejudice that is being shown in high numbers amongst racist and prejudiced White people.

Before anyone who is delusional enough to say Black people do this to White people on a grand scale or equal scale, you better check your history and statistics. The legit and reputable statistics that is. The numbers don’t lie. Ask yourself the following questions regarding this day in age:

1. How many Black people have called the cops on White people for barbecuing or gathering in a public place where it is allowed?

2. How many Black people have called the cops on White people for selling goods such as water or lemonade on their own property?

3. How many videos have been posted to show Black people hurling racial epithets at White people as they are walking down the street, shopping, while driving in their car or stopped at a traffic light?

4. How many Black people have called the cops on White people just so the cops can verify that they live in the same nice neighborhood as them?

5. How many little White boys compared to Black boys had the cops called on them for playing with a BB gun, toy gun or water gun because Black people felt “threatened” by them?

Ridiculous! Then these exposed individuals want to cry and apologize for their actions after being terminated from their jobs. Why are you crying now? You wasn’t doing all that when you were foaming at the mouth with your hate. This week, a Georgia University girl slipped up and called her Black roommate N*ggerish. The kicker? She meant to send it to her friend, but accidentally sent it to her instead. When she realized what she had done, she lied and said she typed triggerish, but her phone changed it to N*ggerish. So phones are being racist now too?

The last time I checked, this isn’t the era of slavery and not only that, Black people have a voice now. A voice that is growing stronger each and every day. I will never, ever let anyone make me feel inferior whether it has to do with my skin color, education, social status or socioeconomic status. You can try to make me feel inferior or bothered, but I’ll never feel inferior towards anyone. I DON’T CARE who you are. Not gonna happen, NEVER WILL IT HAPPEN.

Let me say this one final thing before I end this post: I will never walk in fear because I refuse to walk in fear. There are TWO things I can honestly say that strikes fear in me and that is God first and foremost and second to Him is my parents. As far as anyone else? Please. Go take a number and sit down somewhere.

Until next time, treat everyone you encounter with love, decency and respect. Your color doesn’t make you any better than the next person.

Lesandro Guzman Feliz

If you have been watching the news lately, you have probably heard the terrible tragedy surrounding Lesandro Guzman Feliz. Known as ‘Junior’ to his family and friends, this beautiful fifteen year old lost his life because five disgusting, low-life excuses for men attacked him. Why? Because they mistook him for another individual who made a sex tape of one of the suspects sister. Did you catch that? They were going to kill someone any way over a sex tape!

NYP

What angers me the most about this tragedy is how no one helped this poor fifteen year old who was first attacked in a Bronx Bodega, dragged outside where he was attacked some more, stabbed and hacked with a machete! The video is circulating around the internet and I refuse to watch it because the video stills of Lesandro’s face riddled with fear shook me to my core. It broke my heart in more ways than one just thinking about how confused Lesandro must have been as all this was taking place. This beautiful child only went to the Bodega to give one of his friends five dollars so he could get him something to eat. That right there does something to me. It does more than just break my heart…

Junior

I was glued to the reports as one suspect after another was caught and I wouldn’t be satisfied until all five were caught. Today that finally happened. One of these pathetic, scum filled excuses for a human being was turned in by his own mother. Good! Because I would have done the same thing. If that had of been me or one of my other siblings who did something so vile, my parents would have turned us in with the quickness before beating the mess out of us. My parents don’t play! Take a look at these heartless suspects.

lesandro-guzman-feliz-killers

I pray, as I’m sure millions of others are, that some sort of peace will fill the hearts of Lesandro’s family now that all five suspects have been caught. Especially his heart-broken mother. I know it won’t bring him back, but at least she can see the outrage that was shared along with her and how the public went above and beyond to help the police capture her son’s killers so they can be brought to justice. As far as I’m concerned, throw the book at them. They are nothing but pieces of sub-human filth to do something so hateful, vicious and disgusting! Garbage, pure garbage is what they are. Lesandro didn’t deserve what happened to him nor does anyone else.

Just Foul

I rarely get on Youtube, but I happened to stumble across a video that blew my mind so much that I had to blog about it. It’s a video of a woman who destroyed a gas station because her EBT card aka Food Stamp card was declined. Whose fault is that? It’s not the clerk’s fault or the store owner’s fault that there were no more funds on it. Why tear up the store? You know I’m going to post the video so keep reading. The first word that came to my mind was foul and when you see the video, you’ll understand why I chose that word.

FS

This foul pathetic excuse of a woman ransacked a gas station and felt like she had a right to do it. I have relatives who own businesses and I can assure you she would’ve been thrown out with the quickness. She wouldn’t have the chance to do the damage she caused in this gas station because they would’ve removed her from the store the minute she started to knock stuff down. My family doesn’t play when it comes to their businesses. The same goes for many other business owners. If she had of refused to leave, the police would’ve definitely been called. Not all cops are bad cops. Some people need the cops called on them.

EBT

It’s behaviors like this that makes the honest hard working people who receive EBT / Food Stamps look bad. Not all people who are on welfare and / or EBT / Food Stamps act like this. Foolishness comes in all races, nationalities and colors. If it were up to me, she wouldn’t receive another dime, nickel or penny of EBT assistance for such despicable behavior. Sometimes you have to teach people a lesson so they’ll understand certain behaviors are not acceptable. Click here. You’ll be shaking your head as soon as it plays.

Nice Try Rosie

Roseanne Barr had her show axed Monday after posting another racist and insensitive tweet about a person of color. She was called out in the past by her ex-husband Tom Arnold for her racially charged tweets, but with all that being said, I can’t help but to see her as a plum fool. Why do I say that? Here’s why. The president of ABC Entertainment (where her Roseanne reboot was aired) is an African American woman by the name of Channing Dungey. Guess who axed Roseanne Barr’s show within 11 hours after her tweet? You guessed it…

CD

Roseanne proved to be her own worst enemy and she freely provided her own rope to hang herself when she posted her most recent disgusting tweet. How DUMB is that? The woman who has an immense amount of power and control over not only you, but also your show happens to be a woman of color and you do something as foolish as that? I tell you it’s true, racist and prejudiced people are some of the most dumbest people in the world.

racism

Channing Dungey didn’t think twice about axing Roseanne’s show and she has millions of people who support her decision. Not only that, she is being praised for her swift decision. With all that being said, you can’t help but to feel bad for the innocent cast members who got caught up in Roseanne’s foolishness. I found it hilarious how her cast members quickly denounced Roseanne Barr and distanced themselves from her. Smart, very smart.

Roseanne is being verbally dragged all over the internet and the news by both fans and celebrities, but that didn’t stop her from stooping to a new low by blaming the medication Ambien for her actions. Nice try. Ambien responded back with the quickness that racism is not a side effect of their medication! It’s funny how racist and prejudiced people backtrack when they are called out by the masses. Racist and prejudiced
individuals tend to forget that people of color now have a strong voice. Many hold prominent positions and so your actions will come with serious consequences and repercussions.

Roseanne’s rise and fall is proof that what you say or do can come back to bite you with a vengeance. She should’ve thought twice before she sent that tweet…

Marvin Said It Best

Good Evening to everyone tonight. I hope that each of you are doing well and are safe. With everything that is going on in the world today, you can’t help but to stop and pause because of all the turmoil that is in the news each and every day. To say that it’s heartbreaking would be an understatement because the life we know can drastically change at any given moment.

I was asked to post a song on here that I personally feel is still relevant today. Seeing how blues and soul music are my top favorites, I had to go with the late Marvin Gaye. The song? What’s Going On. When you hear it, I want you to pay very close attention to the lyrics. Even if you’ve never heard of Marvin Gaye, after listening to this song, you too will agree that this song he penned from the heart 47 years ago is still relevant today no matter who you are.

Soul music is called Soul music for a reason. It’s because the music comes from deep within a person’s soul. For those of you who may not know, Black people used music to speak out against the things that bothered them or hurt them. Why through music? Because their spoken words were often ignored. It was only when they would sing that people who were not Black would actually listen. Thus, that is how the genres of Soul music and The Blues were born.

Without further ado, I present to you Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On here.
