Black Bait

Hello again everyone! I hope that each of you are doing well. I know that I haven’t been posting on my blog regularly, but I will be soon. I’m almost done settling in my new city. Woo hoo! Now that we got that out of the way, let’s get to it. This is going to be a fairly long post.

Can you imagine a time where babies were used as bait? It’s kind of hard to imagine something so heinous and cruel, right? What if I told you Black babies were used as alligator bait here in the United States? Would that shock you?

This troubling dark history has been tucked away and rarely discussed because of its long and disturbing history. The reasoning behind the use of Black babies as alligator bait is not only racist and cruel, but it’s stupid too.

Made popular in the state of Florida, Black babies were used as bait because these racists believed that Black babies couldn’t feel pain. Adding to that, they believed alligators were attracted to their dark skin and smell. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, racists are imbeciles.

These crying babies were sometimes dangled from hooks or placed in shallow alligator infested waters. The crying and flailing of the babies would cause the alligators to come which would then allow the alligator hunters to shoot them. Some alligator hunters wouldn’t shoot the alligator until it had the baby in it’s jaws. Why? Because these cretinous racists believed that Black babies skin was so tough it could withstand alligator bites.

Some unfortunate babies lost limbs and some were even killed by alligators. For the mothers of these babies who were taken against their will, they were sometimes paid with alligator bait by these alligator hunters. Why? To make the unauthorized snatching of their babies seem less cruel. Not only that, some would blatantly lie to newspapers that the mothers “rented” their babies as bait. C’mon now. You can’t make this type of stuff up.

There are caricatures, post cards, newspaper clippings and the like mocking this cruel and unsettling practice. I fail to see the humor in such a vicious and disturbing practice. If you find humor in this, something is seriously wrong with you. Seek help immediately.

With Black History Month just around the corner, I’m just getting started. More rarely known stories to come.

Until next time…

Kevin Kirkland

You see that despicable, useless, filthy name? If you are a news buff like myself, you know what type of garbage is behind that name. Kevin Kirkland, for those of you who may not know, was a Special Needs teacher in the state of California who was convicted of sexually assaulting Special Needs students. What is more disturbing is that students had been complaining about him and his deviant conduct for years. Look at him. Look at his filthy, disgusting sour-looking self!

It has taken ten long unnecessary years for charges to be brought against this sexual sadist, predator, pedophile and rapist and I find that to be outrageous. Imagine the fear and intimidation his students must’ve felt whenever they had to step foot into his classroom. I’m angry and I blame the principal and school district for ignoring the pleas of these brave Special Needs students who took steps to report him. That school district he taught in is as worthless as a penny with a hole in it. Useless lint balls…

My heart goes out to the victims and I hope the parents will go after the principle and school district next for not taking the complaints of their children seriously and for failing to protect them. He should have never been allowed to harm so many students for so long. Just imagine the damage this gutter urchin has done…

No Excuse! – Words of Wisdom

I came across a disturbing Instagram post where a man literally head stomped a man during a fight. This triggered me because I used to fight in such a disturbing manner. To see it made me even more ashamed of how I fought in the past. Yes, I became ashamed at myself all over again. I know we all get angry from time to time, but there is absolutely no excuse to lose your temper in such a way.

Imagine the guilt you’ll end up feeling if that person would have died or suffered a serious injury. I still feel guilty for some of the injuries I caused in the past. When you begin to realize how stupid and immature it is to react in such a way, you’ll do everything within your power to change. Keep in mind, that other person has family and friends that love them too.

I haven’t fought in well over ten years and I don’t plan to again. I will distance myself from situations that have the potential to trigger me. I will walk away from arguments that have the potential to get physical. I will pray wholeheartedly that I’ll be able to keep my hands to myself if someone hits me. Worst case scenario, if I have to defend myself again, I will try my very best not to cause someone else serious damage.

It’s always best to walk away from confrontations and if you find it hard to, pray to God to give you the strength to. After all, He is much mightier than us all. The woman writing this post is loving the peace she has acquired from the change she made over ten years ago. Hopefully the man in that video will do the same.

Happy Friday Good People! πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ€—β€οΈ

Ladies, Don’t You…

Ladies, don’t you hate it when a man whose married or in a relationship tries to hit on you? The men with a lot of money are the worst ones! I don’t care how big your house is, how many zeroes and commas you have in your bank account or how you “think” you can make me happy. If you are married or in a relationship, Anita DON’T want you. I DON’T care about all your material possessions…πŸ™„

They got a wife / significant other and / or kids at home and they are out here chasing women. It’s a shame whenever I get dressed up and go out, I have to deal with married or “committed” men thirsting after me. Sir, go home and be with your wife / significant other. Be there for your kids sir. Anita is not a home wrecker sir. Anita has never been second best to a man sir. Being the “other woman” is NOT my thing sir. πŸ™…πŸΎβ€β™€οΈBe gone sir…πŸ‘‹πŸΎ

Ladies, if you’ve ever contemplated dating or “messing around” with a married man or a man in a relationship, DON’T do it. You’re asking for trouble. I’ve seen it happen to so many women. Some women really be out here crying / fussing over a man who they know is married or in relationship. He DON’T belong to you madam! Whatchu cryin’ for? You allowed yourself to get played like a fiddle madam. πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Fooling around with married or “committed” men???

Music To My Ears

I was asked not too long ago, what song comes to mind whenever I’m feeling down or sad? Well, there’s one song in particular that pops into my head and it happens to be by Jamaican artist Jimmy Cliff. It’s a song that my beloved mother would often sing when things got a little tough. We don’t break easily in my family. πŸ’ͺ🏾πŸ’ͺ🏾πŸ’ͺ🏾

This song can uplift anyone’s spirits if you listen to the lyrics closely. It’s also a song that will bring a smile across your face before it ends. This song was originally recorded by Johnny Nash, but it was Jimmy Cliff’s version that made it more popular. What song am I referring to? Click here to find out and may you too be inspired.

No Excuse for Domestic Abuse

Domestic violence is becoming an epidemic. Domestic violence consists of physical, mental, emotional and even sexual abuse. For those of you who have been following my blog for quite some time, you know how strongly I feel about rape. Sad to say, rape is used often in relationships plagued with domestic violence and abuse and I find that quite unsettling.

Thank goodness for all the other wonderful men who love and treat women with dignity, tenderness and respect. Ladies, aren’t we grateful and thankful for men like that?

I received three clips to review (which I will also share with you) and I was asked to relay my thoughts. These clips are from movies that are based on true stories. That for me made these scenes even more heartbreaking to watch. My thoughts are this: There is NO excuse for domestic violence and abuse. My blood was boiling watching those clips and to think that millions of women go through such treatment each and every day is depressing and disturbing.

If you are in a relationship plagued with domestic violence and abuse, please love yourself enough to get out of it. If you have children, that is an even greater reason to leave.

Viewer discretion is strongly advised because even though these scenes are brief, they are very hard to watch. Viewer discretion is advised…

Every Author Loves This

Comments from readers that is. Whether it is through email, a review or even a comment on one of our social media sites, reader comments are always welcomed. I had another one today that I thought I would share with you. A reader commented how she heard about The Chronicles of Neffie and she is now reading it. Like most readers who have already read it, Neffie is a spit fire and her character is tripping readers out!

My goal before the end of June is to have The Chronicles of Neffie at #1 in at least one ebook category. I’ve been coming really close, the closest I’ve ever been is #2 on Amazon. As I mentioned before, I’m pushing my ebook for The Chronicles of Neffie first and the sales have been great. However, I’m pushing for even more. Neffie, we can get to #1 in at least one category before the end of June. C’mon girl, we can do it!

Readers, this author always welcomes your comments and reviews. The more the better. Keep them coming!
