For The Indies

Indies have it hard. Seriously we do. At least in the beginning. For the most part, all you really have is yourself and I’m here to tell you that’s OK. Getting yourself out there can be a daunting task, but I’m here to tell you it can be done!

When I first started my blog two years ago, for a whole year I didn’t have any followers or subscribers. Sad, but true. Even still, I kept on writing because I knew my writing style would eventually find a crowd. Thankfully, things are much different now. Just to put things into perspective, Friday evening I published my Facebook page. Since then I have had 2k likes and follows for my Facebook page! Whattttttttt! How? I will tell you below.

I have been working hard networking and connecting with other writers, bloggers and most importantly, readers! Over the past month and a half, I have been painstakingly reaching out and inviting such ones to sign up and follow my Facebook page once it is published. I expected less than half would like and follow, but I was wrong.

Let me leave you with this…

YOU are your greatest asset, period. When you believe in yourself, there is nothing no one can say or do to stop you. YOU are your greatest secret weapon. Remember that. Let your rejections humble you and let your setbacks motivate you. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and don’t be afraid to go after what you want. In a few days, I will be doing a Facebook ad campaign to reach many more readers and if you are a book worm yourself, I hope to connect with you too.

Until next time…

  1. I hope you will continue to reach out this way. There are a few of us left that for whatever reason don’t Facebook. I’m being selfish here. Lol! As always I love you and am happy for your success. Love Sussan
