I can’t think of a better word to describe how I’m feeling now. I’ve stated since I began writing my second novel that I made quite a few mistakes with my first novel. I made a promise to myself that I would do better with my second novel and I have thus far. Mistakes and failures have a way of humbling you, so I’m grateful for them.
I was a little naive when I embarked on my writing journey in the fall of 2014, but I’ve come a long way since then. There were quite a few things I did backwards with my first novel such as obtaining literary reviews after my novel was released. Nope! That’s a big No No and you can rightfully assume that I’m not doing that with my second novel. When you know better, you can do better.
In three and a half weeks, I’ll be revealing my book title and cover and I can’t wait! I put a lot of thought into it and I can’t wait to finally share it with you. In addition to sending my manuscript off for several literary reviews, I’ll also be requesting die hard book reviewers for my book. Six awesome readers will receive an advance copy of my book in exchange for their honest reviews before its released. Stay tuned for details in the coming weeks.
My goal for my second novel is to garner both online and offline sales. With my debut novel, I’m strictly getting offline sales. Let’s see if I can change that trend with this next one. Until then, I’ll keep pushing myself to stay focused. Making my family proud is what keeps me going.
