The Farmers Market

Don’t you just love fresh produce! I know I do. I took a small break from writing this weekend to visit one of my favorite places when I go home to visit my family, The Farmers Market in Opelika, Alabama. I’m a bit partial to that one because most of the hands who helped yield and grow such fine and divine produce happens to be some of my kin. Green thumbs run in my family and I’m very proud of that fact.

I could remember helping my Grandparents plant and yield peas, sugar cane, corn, tomatoes, peppers, watermelons and cucumbers just to name a few. There is something about getting your hands dirty in a field that is ripe and ready for a yield. I’d say it’s one of the best feelings in the world. Take a peek at some of the pictures I snapped at the Farmers Market in Opelika below. Man, not only do they have the best produce, but they MAKE some of the best Old-Fashioned candy that you can’t find anywhere else.

Until next time…
