The power of the pen should never be underestimated. It has the power to accomplish many things and depending on whose hands it is in, it can even be a force to reckon with. Most people see the pen as nothing more than a writer’s tool, but in reality the pen is much more than that. The pen itself has been used to cross boundaries, break down boundaries, bring about radical change and much, much more. Make no mistake, the power of the pen is mightier than a sword because it can not only create wounds, but it can also heal wounds. As a writer, I choose to use the power of the pen to inspire and empower because in my opinion, there is enough hate, chaos and violence in the world. Why use the power of the pen to add to it? If I can bring a smile across someone’s face or fill someone’s heart with joy, hope and laughter, then I have used the power of the pen for the greater good. It goes without saying that when it comes to the power of the pen, it is not so much as to what you write, but more so as to how you write it.
